• ATTY. KRIS ABLAN is a first-term Member of the Ilocos Norte Provincial Board.
• He is Chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means.
• He is Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Laws.
• His main advocacies include Law & Social Justice, Tourism, Education, Universal Healthcare, Green Energy, Investments, Youth Welfare and Job Generation.
• As of 31 July 2009, Kris has authored 41 ordinances (of which 14 were enacted into law), and 25 resolutions (of which 18 were approved).  That translates to a legislative output of  2.6 ordinances/resolutions every month.
• He is a lawyer by profession, having graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Law back in 2005.  Having said that, he hates litigation and instead advocates parties to try Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
• He also teaches part-time in Miriam College and Northwestern University and is a Naval Reservist with the rank of Captain at the Judge Advocate General Service.
• Prior to entering politics, Kris used to work at the Office of the Solicitor General, Britanico, Sarmiento and Franco Law Offices, and the House of Representatives Protocol Service.
• When Kris was UP University Student Council Chair, he lobbied for the passage of a new charter for the University of the Philippines in Congress, and it came true in the form of Republic Act 9500.
• When Kris was with the OSG, he was also tapped to lobby for a new OSG Law.  The bill eventually became Republic Act 9417.
• He is the son of Representative Roque R. Ablan, Jr. and the grandson of the late Governor Roque B. Ablan, Sr.
• He is married to the beautiful, intelligent and caring Ria Berbano of Alcala, Cagayan.  They are expecting their first child in March 2010.
• He is also an alumnus of Xavier School and Ateneo De Manila University, and is a member of U.P. Namnama and Upsilon Sigma Phi Fraternity.
• He enjoys traveling with his wife, reading non-fiction books (currently reading Team of Rivals and What The Dog Saw), biking, surfing the internet, watching movies and playing slo-pitch softball.
• He loves Aveneto’s and D’Marks’ pizza, Sabrett hotdogs and his wife’s special marinara pasta, but is now trying to watch his weight.
• He follows Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Entourage, The Amazing Race and How I Met Your Mother on TV.
